David B. Hair, MD, a board certified ophthalmologist, is the founder and medical director of the Bakersfield Eye Institute. After training directly under several of the nation’s top eye surgeons, the Garces High School graduate returned to Bakersfield to establish his medical practice. Dr. Hair graduated with honors in biochemistry and was the class valedictorian at the University of Nevada, Reno. He went on to earn a medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C., and then remained at Georgetown University for his ophthalmology residency at the Washington National Eye Center.

Dr. Hair is also uniquely trained in ocular surface reconstruction and artificial cornea transplants.

Throughout his career, Dr. Hair has demonstrated extraordinary surgical capabilities as well as a rare commitment to the community.
